- Leyton Buzzards (variously known as well as 'The Leyton Buzzards', 'Leyton Buzzard', etc.) was a mod, power pop, and new wave influenced punk band from the East End of London, England. It was active from about 1977 to 1983. They released a total of six singles. The second single, "Saturday Night Beneath the Plastic Palm Trees", was released in 1979 through Chrysalis Records and became a surprise hit. It reached #53 in the charts and earned the band a spot on 'Top Of The Pops'.
